The Folder SafeBox makes it quite easy to protect your photos, videos, documents, music, and other files. All you have to do is drag and drop the files you want to protect onto the application’s interface. Folder SafeBox will then move the source file to the box and store it safely by encrypting it.

The Folder SafeBox installation file is stored into an archive and the size of the archive is less than 1MB. Extract the installation file from the archive, run it, and a setup wizard will automatically install it on your operating system. The Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 editions of the Microsoft-developed operating system are supported.

The first time you run Folder SafeBox, you will be asked to select a password – make sure you select a properly good password. You will then be presented with Folder SafeBox’s simplistic interface. The white window in the middle presents the files encrypted and stored in the box. The buttons at the top provide easy access to the Settings menu (specify if you want the source file to be copied or moved to the box where it will be encrypted automatically), Backup menu (Export Folder SafeBox data as a .back file and import backup files to Folder SafeBox), Help menu, Register menu, and Exit button.

Encrypting data with the Folder SafeBox application is an incredibly simple process: all you have to do is drag and drop files or folders onto the application’s interface. Based on which option you select from the Settings menu, the data will either be copied or moved to the box where it will be automatically encrypted. To decrypt data from the box, drag and drop it outside of Folder SafeBox’s interface.

To save space, Folder SafeBox automatically compresses the data it encrypts. And speaking about encrypting data, it must be mentioned that the application uses a 256-bit encryption algorithm.

Encrypting files or folders for safekeeping is an incredibly easy process with the Folder SafeBox encryption tool.

Pros

Folder SafeBox works with XP, Vista, and Windows 7. The interface is quite simple. Drag and drop files onto Folder SafeBox’s interface to encrypt them, drag and drop them out of the interface to decrypt them. Back up Folder SafeBox data. Folder SafeBox compresses the data it encrypts.

Cons

There are other, better looking and free encryption tools out there.
